STEP 1. Phone Consultation
STEP 2. Insurance Benefits Check
We will verify that your insurance plan is accepted by our clinic prior to onset of treatment. However, coverage amounts vary from policy to policy and we cannot guarantee the amounts of coverage offered by your insurance carrier. It is your responsibility to seek coverage amounts and limits of liability on your insurance policy. This can be done by contacting your carrier at the number on the back of your insurance card prior to starting treatment.
STEP 3. Scheduling by Provider
STEP 4. Diagnostic Assessment
You will complete the initial intake packet and four questionnaires which help us gather information about your presenting complaint(s). Once your provider has an opportunity to review the information, the diagnostic interview will begin. Your provider will ask a variety of questions to gain insight into your mental health history and establish an initial treatment plan for the first stage of your treatment.
STEP 5. Treatment Planning Session
Client and provider work together on the initial treatment plan which is developed around areas of concern, recommended treatment approach, and frequency of appointments likely needed to meet treatment goals.
regarding children or adolescents
During a child or adolescent’s treatment journey, parent/guardian involvement can be an invaluable tool beyond the initial appointment. A few key benefits of involving family in the treatment process include better understanding of your child or adolescent’s needs, consistent reinforcement of coping needs/therapy strategies, a positive impact on family dynamics, parent education and skill development, improved communication within the family unit, routine communication with the therapist, and greater accountability with goals. As we gather information about your child or adolescent’s presenting complaint(s), we can explore which service or combination of services will be the best fit to meet their needs (individual, family, and/or conjoint therapy). A legal guardian must be present at the first visit for all children and adolescents who cannot consent for their own outpatient mental health treatment. We ask that children are never left unaccompanied on site while attending individual appointments.

Reaching out for help can be nerve-wracking but we’re here to make the process as comfortable as possible. Below are some questions frequently asked by first time clients. If you don’t see something listed, feel free to contact us for additional information.
Your first appointment is called a Diagnostic Assessment (DA). You will complete initial paperwork to help us gather information about your presenting complaint(s). Once your provider reviews this information, the diagnostic interview will begin. The purpose of the interview process is to gain insight into your mental health history, further explore presenting complaints, and establish an initial treatment plan that will help you meet your goals.
A standard session is 50 minutes long.
Appointments must be cancelled at least 48 hours in advance by calling or emailing us. Monday appointments must be cancelled by noon the Friday before your appointment to not be considered a late cancellation. All late cancellations (any appointment cancelled with less than 48 hours notice) and no-shows will be subject to a $100 fee. In the event that you experience a family emergency, imminent weather, or an illness that prevents you from providing adequate notice, we ask that you reach out to your provider as soon as possible to discuss your scheduling concerns.
Session frequency varies from client to client. Most clients will initiate services at a frequency of weekly to every other week. As they develop the tools to manage their symptoms, clients transition to a less frequent schedule such as monthly or on an as needed basis until client and provider determine treatment goals have been met.
