Meet Nancy

Nancy Moore, MA, LPCC

Greetings! I knew in high school I wanted to be a counselor of some sort, but life happened, and getting there was quite an adventure! Over my adult life, I have explored several avenues and career paths and have had many experiences meeting people from all walks of life. These experiences eventually led to my current role as a licensed professional clinical counselor.
I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, Minnesota and my Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota. My experiences include working with those who have experienced depression, anxiety, PTSD, domestic and sexual violence, substance abuse, adjustment issues, intellectual disabilities, LGBTQ+, gender dysphoria, and aging-related concerns. I work with older adolescent and adult populations. As a therapist, I use a person-centered approach which is based on creating a therapeutic alliance with my client. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MCBT) to assist clients to explore the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how they can make the changes necessary to live a positive, more productive life. Empowering clients to take charge of their lives and mental health is what I feel most passionate about.
As a transplant of Minneapolis and St. Paul, I moved north over a decade ago to fulfill my need to be closer to nature. I have found a simpler, slower pace, time to hike, kayak, watch birds and enjoy all the beauty Minnesota has to offer. I currently work fulltime as a Clinical Supervisor for the State of Minnesota and evenings for Compass Rose Counseling and Wellness. I offer sessions in-person or via tele-health several evenings a week.
